The “Love Like Christ” April 2010 young couples series kicked off yesterday evening at Elmbrook Church.  The event focused on Unconditional Love and how husbands and wives can apply principles of Christ-Like love to their marriage relationships.  After Bill and Dawn Bowan welcomed the group and facilitated a time of conversation, Dan and Stephanie Rolfs shared a humorous, relevant skit that illustrated how easy it is for us to place conditions on our love.

Andrea and I had the privilege of delivering the evening’s message on Unconditional Love.  We focused on a scriptural view of four key attributes of Unconditional Love:

  1. Unconditional Love is Active
  2. Unconditional Love is Sacrificial
  3. Unconditional Love is Kind
  4. Unconditional Love is Persevering

We’ve included our full presentation below, which contains all of the Bible passages and main points from the discussion.  We’d encourage you to re-read these texts and discuss how you can better apply them to your lives and your marriages.

During our talk we referenced a recent message delivered by Pete Briscoe, Senior Pastor at Bent Tree in Carrollton, Texas.  To learn more, we highly recommend that you download the podcast of Pete’s message.

Other audio and video recordings shared during the message are provided below:

Join us next Saturday evening for week two of the Love Like Christ series.  We’re pleased to have Bill and Dawn Bowan sharing a talk focused on Selfless Love.
